Got handed this ad disguised as a newspaper extra in front of Shinbashi Station this morning. Beginning today, there’s wifi access at 1,300 7-Eleven, Ito Yokado, and Denny’s locations in Tokyo. Free access for up to three connections/60 minutes a day, according to the ad. Service to be extended to 14,000 locations nationwide in two years. See http://webapp.7spot.jp for details. EDIT: You need to become a member of the 7 Spot service to get your access; also, there’s a limit of 3 connections per day, but each of them can last up to an hour, according to that site. Also there’s a bunch of AKB48 wallpaper download crap. Whatever.
